Indian Sport Women  Said  Leave  sports to Players ,Leave Sports To Players, Say India’s Women Sports Icons,

Two women athletic stars, Ashwini Nachappa and Reeth Abraham, are among the founders of Clean Sports India, a non-profit initiative set up two years ago. Passionate about their mission to cleanse sports in India, both women are now planning to take their campaign to the athletes themselves who, they believe, are getting a raw deal because of over-aged, unaccountable sports administrators. Nachappa and Abraham now demand the creation of a sports code mandating that 25 per cent of office bearers in Indian sports federations are sportspersons, of whom 10 per cent are women. They also want the government to monitor the activities of these bodies. The recent suspension of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has only underlined the importance of their quest.

“The greatest fear that the Indian sports authorities have is of athletes uniting to expose their misdeeds.”
