Aloe vera is a stemless or very short-stemmed succulent plant growing to 60–100 cm (24–39 in) tall, spreading by offsets. The leaves are thick and fleshy, green to grey-green, with some varieties showing white flecks on the upper and lower stem surfaces. The margin of the leaf is serrated and has small white teeth. The flowers are produced in summer on a spike up to 90 cm (35 in) tall, each flower being pendulous, with a yellow tubular corolla 2–3 cm (0.8–1.2 in) long. Like other Aloe species, Aloe vera forms arbuscular mycorrhiza, a symbiosis that allows the plant better access to mineral nutrients in soil.
Common names include Chinese Aloe, Indian Aloe, True Aloe, Barbados Aloe, Burn Aloe, First Aid Plant. Aloe vera has been widely grown as an ornamental plant. The species is popular with modern gardeners as a putatively medicinal plant and due to its interesting flowers, form, and succulence

Aloe Vera for Hair

Common Problems faced on hair

  • Rough and Dry Hair
  • Split Ends, Losing shine
  • Dandruff
  • Hair loss
  • Balding

Aloe vera helps in restoring the pH balance in the scalp and in turn creating a very suitable environment for the hair growth. Aloe vera, when combined with some other natural ingredients can help us solve our hair problems or reduce them.

  1. Rough and Dry Hair - Due to busy and hectic life style our hair is exposed to dust and pollution everyday. This leads to dry and rough hair. In order to improve this Aloe vera can work wonders on your hai. After washing your hair with a shampoo, apply aloe vera gel as a conditioner.  In market there are few leave on gels also which can be applied after hair wash.
  2. Losing Shine and Split Ends - Another common day problem is that of losing shine on your hair and in turn hair tends to look rough and dry. Aloe vera gel mixed along with a nice cream and then applied on skin can help restore lost shine on hair.
  3. Dandruff- Lemon, aloe vera gel and a hair oil mixed togather and massaged on scalp can help reduce dandruff. After applying this a thorough shampoo is a must.
  4. Balding  and Hair Loss- Aloe vera can prevent balding by restoring the pH balance and inducing stronger hair follicles. You can apply aloe vera as a conditioner after wash and leave it for a few minutes and rinse your hair.

How to Apply on Hair and Skin

For hair loss, massage the aloe vera gel into the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. This promotes hair growing enzymes and restores pH. Do this daily if possible.

For the face, use the aloe vera gel topically at night and don't wash it off until the following morning. This will reduce redness and help with a number of skin conditions plus moisturising it.

For weight loss, put aloe vera gel and pulp in a blender and store the mixture in the fridge. It lasts about 5 days I believe. When drinking it, add a couple of tablespoons of the blended mix to either citrus juice or water.
